Practical guidance for using XENPRO Xenopus Diet in colony feeding programs. These recommendations are informed by large-scale real-world Xenopus colony feeding experience.
General Feeding Approach
XENPRO Xenopus Diet pellets are designed to support both surface-accessible and sinking feeding behavior. This dual-behavior characteristic accommodates the natural foraging patterns observed in Xenopus colonies, where animals feed at different water column depths.
Specific feeding rates and schedules should be determined based on colony size, animal age/stage, water temperature, and institutional protocols.
Feeding Instructions
Introduce a few pellets at first—just enough to get the frogs to respond.
Once the frogs begin actively consuming the food, continue feeding what they will actively consume for at least 10 minutes of continuous feeding.
If food is accumulating on the bottom of the tank, you are feeding too quickly or providing too much food.
